Scarlett Johansson (born November 22 1984 New York City New York, U.S.) American actor and performer whose performance versatility earned her praise across many genres from period drama to action and thriller. Johansson has a father who is a film director and architect. She was raised by New York City. She was the twin sister of Hunter and her were her youngest siblings. When she was just seven year old, she began making auditions for TV commercials. To enhance her skills, she attended an acting class at Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in Manhattan as well as she attended the Professional Children's School. When she was eight, she appeared with Ethan Hawke in the Off-Broadway production Sophistry when she was nine. At that age, she made her debut in film in Rob Reiner's North (1994). Johansson was next seen on screen in Just Cause (1996), but she was Manny & Lo 1996 that made her famous. The film is about two girls orphaned by their parents who are running away. After that, she earned critical praise for portraying a teenage girl who had been injured and resulted in her being disfigured as she appeared in The Horse Whisperer (1998).
